The Transition to Employment Services (TES) Program offers job search, workplace and occupation related skills to assist unemployed individuals obtain employment in Grande Prairie or Grande Cache. TES components include employment services, job matching and/or unpaid work experience.

 

Services will be individualized and customized to the job seeker’s needs. They will include:

  • Identification of short and long-term employment goals
  • Interest assessments
  • Exploration of occupational and training requirements related to employment goals
  • Resumé and cover letter preparation
  • Interview skills
  • Personal presentation and networking skills
  • Labour market information
  • Effective job search techniques
  • Job matching
  • Opportunities to gain work experience
  • On-site job coaching and mentorship
  • Workplace supports

The cost of short-term certificate courses can be covered if they are determined to be required to obtain employment.

Our goal is to make a successful match between job seeker and employment opportunity and to provide the follow up support necessary to maintain the job.

Client Eligibility:

  • Be ready, willing and able to work
  • Be unemployed
  • Alberta resident
  • Be 18 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Primarily designed for job seekers with Employment Insurance involvement in the past five years.
