Job Placement Service / Workplace Training Program

JOB PLACEMENT PROGRAM
Assists individuals to develop or refine job search skills, make connections to employers and provides job maintenance support. 
 
 

  WORKPLACE TRAINING PROGRAM 
Workplace Training is a custom-made program supporting the training needs of eligible individuals and uses worksite-based training opportunities to teach specific skills for in demand occupations. 
 

Client Eligibility 
Services are available for people who have experience difficulty in locating steady employment. Individuals must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be ready, willing and able to benefit from the program’s services.

Services 
Job Placement Services offers people assistance in a number of areas, including:

  • Skills analysis and generation of work options;
  • Job search techniques, interview skills, resume writing, self-marketing, tapping into the hidden job market and/or job retention skills;
  • Job placement, which connects individuals to available job opportunities;
  • Job maintenance and on-the-job support including coaching, mentoring, adjusting transportation and childcare arrangements or mediating with the employer.
 

Client Eligibility 
To be eligible, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have difficulty finding and/or keeping employment. Clients must need skill training, be 18 years of age or older, out of high school, and have an employment goal. You must meet with an Employment Consultant to verify your eligibility for the program.

Services to Participants

  • Information on the goals and requirements of the Workplace Training Program.
  • Information and assistance regarding strategies to effectively market the Workplace Training Program to potential employers.
  • A skill assessment for the specified job to determine training required.
  • Job maintenance support services.
  • Monitoring at a three and six month period.

Duration 
The program must be full-time (minimum of 30 hours per week) and be between four and 34 weeks.

Expectations

  • Agreement to a training plan developed with the employer and the Employment Consultant, The Work Place.
  • Complete training plan.
  • Monthly progress reports completed with Employment Consultant.
  • Continued employment after training is completed.
