
Our friendly Employment Advisors will welcome you to the Work Place. If you are a first-time visitor, you will be asked to take a couple of minutes to register, and will then be given an overview of all the services available to you.

Access to print and electronic career, employment and labour market information.
Computers with Internet access
• Access to four computer workstations provided on a first come, first serve basis in one-hour time blocks.
• Access to the Internet for work search and career exploration purposes.
• Microsoft Word is available on each computer.
• USB (memory sticks) for sale at $5.00 each.
Employment Message Service
Employment message service for people without access to a phone.
Fax Machine
Receive and send job-related documents (resumés, cover letters, driver’s abstracts, employer job confirmation, reference letters and safety tickets). We will not receive or send income support, family maintenance, and other personal documents. The Work Place will not accept requests by phone for sending faxes.
Job Postings
• Access employment listings on-line and print.
• The job ads from the Daily Herald are available in both print and electronic format.
• Job listings posted by employers.
• A list of relevant employment web sites is available.
Resumés
For help with resumés:
• Attend a Resumé Writer workshop.
• Type your resumé using a computer. The Employment Advisor is available to review your resumé and provide suggestions.
• Client resumés can be stored electronically for a one-year period.
Printer/photocopier
Make copies of career and employment-related documents. You are allowed to make ten copies of your resume each day.
Telephone
Access to telephone for local and long-distance calls for job search purposes.
